Optimized for clarity, sweetness, and acidity. This profile is formulated specifically for light-roast coffee. It is a “soft” water formulation with 44 GH (from Calcium and Magnesium) 20 KH (from Potassium and Sodium), which is the profile recommended by modern roasters.

Includes 1 packet of mineral concentrate which makes 52 gallons of brew water, and two pipettes. 

This formulation shines with light and ultra-light roasts. Sey Coffee, Aviary, September, H&S, Hydrangea, S&W, Coffee Collective, Dak Coffee Roasters, Manhattan Coffee Roasters, etc

Exact ingredients (measured to 100th of a gram):

  • Epsom Salt (MgSO4·7H2O): 10.00 g
  • Calcium Chloride (CaCl2): 3.00 g
  • Magnesium Chloride (MgCl2·6H2O): 4.00 g
  • Sodium Bicarbonate (NaHCO3): 3.40 g
  • Potassium Bicarbonate (KHCO3): 4.00 g

So, how does this work?

What you'll need

  • A scale capable of measuring down to 1 gram
  • A large glass jar, at least 600ml or 20oz

First, you’ll use the mineral packet to make a jar of mineral concentrate.

  1. Add mineral packet to a 20oz glass mason jar (NOT INCLUDED)
  2. Add 500g boiling water (tap water is fine)
  3. Stir, then allow to cool to room temperature

Next, you’ll use the included micropipette to add a measured quantity of concentrate to your distilled or deionized water.
